The AANA Board of Directors has authorized an interactive hybrid meeting for the August 19, 2023, AANA Business Meeting (BUSM). This will allow full participation in the meeting by eligible voting members both in the business meeting room and participating online.
Because current BUSM Standing Rules do not support a hybrid business meeting format, the rules will need to be revised and approved before the August BUSM to allow AANA to properly prepare for the meeting.
A new set of BUSM Rules of Order has been created to allow for the hybrid meeting. In addition, a new element included in the rules requires any proposed “amendments to the amendment” to be submitted ahead of the business meeting to allow for proper vetting through the Bylaws and Resolutions Committee, parliamentarian, and legal (if necessary).
Before posting a final proposed version of the new rules, the AANA Board seeks your input on the draft language.
Please review the proposed new BUSM rules (member login required) and submit your comments to executiveunit@aana.com by Friday, March 10, 2023.
After this comment period, a final proposed set of rules, along with a formal notice of the Special Meeting of the Membership will be sent in the coming month. Eligible voting members at the Special Meeting will be asked to approve the proposed BUSM Rules of Order.
